ESL Endorsement Options

Applications for the August 2024 ESL Endorsement are FULL. Thank you for your interest.

New 2024-2025 Cohorts:

Our ESL Endorsement will be moving to a competency-based program in the fall of 2024. This includes virtual modules with monthly in-person sessions.  Applications will open on Monday, May 6, 2024.

JSD ESL Endorsement 

  • 5 courses aligned to TESOL standards
  • 15 USBE Credits (3 credits per course) that count as lane change credits
  • SUU credit is available ($69 per course)
  • Virtual modules with in-person sessions once per month

PD Opportunities

ELLevation

Pathways cover a range of topics that will help you support your multilingual learners. To receive credit, each module within a selected pathway should be completed in three parts:

1. Learn in Ellevation (45 min)

2. Teach in Your Classroom

3. Reflect in Ellevation (15 min) Upon completion of each module, you will be able to download a PDF Certificate of Completion and a copy of your responses. 

When you finish a Pathway, please complete our USBE Credit for ELLevation form to submit your certificates and evidence. 

*Please note that the Assessing Multilingual Learners Pathway is 0.75 USBE Credits, the Advancing Bilingualism and Biliteracy Pathway is 1.25 USBE Credits, and all other Pathways are worth 1 USBE Credit.
